I went to the Shipshewanna Quilt Show with Geri Sherwood and Judy Bailey last week because a client, Sandy Tedford, had a beautiful quilt hanging in the show, that I quilted!
The Indiana fields were really green but a lot of them were flooded because of all the spring rain!
Our first stop was at Heaven on Earth quilt shop. We had to check it out because they are a Moda shop, in Wabash IN. Very cute.
Later, we went to Risen Roll for donuts and a little tasting for breakfast.
The first stops at the show were our friends quilts: Sandy Tedford’s Patriotic quilt followed by Karen DeWitt’s two quilts. They were celebrities.
Now for some of the quilts, starting with Best of Show.
There was also a beautiful show in the Antique Car Room. Mr Moda had his antique quilts draped over the antique cars there. It was perfect.
This bus driver forgot that the bus didn’t have a curve in it so it lodged on top of the decorative borders on the way to the front door of the show. Smokey should have been driving!
The famous pretzels!
On the way home we got stuck on the interstate so our drive back to our “Indiana home” took 5 hours. We were crispy when we finally got there!
The next day we went off to Accomplish Quilting to say hi.
Then a wonderful stop at Bit of Swiss for wonderful bakery goods. Please vote for the best bakery in the US by going to their site and voting every day through July, for my favorite bakery: The Bit of Swiss in Stevensville MI! www.sweetestbakeryinamerica.com
Last stop was at a wonderful place called Blue Moon. I want to buy everything in their building!
A fabulous time!
